So for some reason the super long caption I wrote the first time isn’t showing up and that’s annoying but anyway....the basic gist of what I said was... 1.) My @fitbit was acting up and I had to record/track two separate “workouts”
2.) I burned 452 calories so I’m glad for that! Still striving to get to 600-700 calories per session.
3.) I’m proud of myself for getting my three days in already for the week and now I want to push to get another day or two in.
4.) I forgot to take my picture in the gym so here’s on in my room lol
5.) I’m glad I’m still pushing even during days where I just feel like quitting or when I feel like no changes are really taking place in my body. I remind myself there’s a greater purpose. It’s more than just looking good. I want to feel good and I want to live a long and healthy life.

Before we dive too deep, if something is wrong with your knee and you’ve got some really really excruciating pain, go get it checked out by a proper doc, pt or trainer....but usually this can be fixed by heightening your mind-body awareness:

Can you tell where your weight is when you are doing any kind of forward lunging? If you can, awesome but let’s check yoself! If you can’t, no worries let’s educate yoself! Since lunging in a forward motion involves you going forward, it’s easiest for our brain 🧠 to go into protection mode as we plant our foot forward during the lunge, by putting more weight into the front half of your foot and into the toes. Now this area of your foot is necessary for sure, but if that’s where your weight is being carried then that’s an extremely strong indicator of where your pain is coming from! When your weight is up front, it lights up everything on the front side of the leg with little emphasis on the back side. This means your anterior tibialis, peroneals, and extensor digitorum longus (fancy for the front/outer calf) and quadriceps (front of the thigh) are doing most of the work in your leg with little help and recruitment from your glutes and hamstrings (upper back half of the leg).

Without recruitment of the backside of your legs, your knee doesn’t have much help to stabilize it through the lunging motion or to properly flex and extend the knee or hip. So what should you do? Focus on keeping your weight just under your ankle as you land aka your midfoot! If it helps you to think 🧠 of it better focus on keeping more of your weight in the back half of your foot so you get more help from your glutes and hamstrings. This will also give you better ankle and hip stability which will help recruit your adductors (inner thighs) better for added stability.

1. Shoulder flexion in a lunging position on the reformer is a very challenging exercise as it challenges leg strength and core stability and balance. 
2.  Weighted squats with toes on the carriage and heels on the box. Great exercise for quad strength and hypertrophy. Works good on people who have ankle mobility issues .

1. Shoulder flexion in a lunging position on the reformer is a very challenging exercise as it challenges leg strength and core stability and balance.
2. Weighted squats with toes on the carriage and heels on the box. Great exercise for quad strength and hypertrophy. Works good on people who have ankle mobility issues .

I find myself short for time recently and realizing I have less time to get my workouts in. WHO CAN RELATE? 🙋🏻‍♀️
Most of us probably🤷🏻‍♀️. So instead of skipping your workout all together - JUST DO IT💪🏼. .
Here are some tips on how to get most out of your time-constrained workouts:
📌focus on circuit training; do 3-4 exercises then rest + repeat
📌add some HIIT or plyometrics to increase the intensity
📌OR do compound exercises as you see in this video; I’m mixing a shoulder press, isometric hold and reverse lunge all in one!
