Coming from several years of class-based workouts trying to transition to the gym, I used to have this crazy little nagging anxiety bug that would nag at me before I walked in. Not because I didn’t know the equipment, but because I just didn’t know what to really do. I would either make stuff up as I would go, or I would quick google some willy-nilly plan for the day. 

Should I do upper body? 
Lower? 
A spilt (whatever that is!), cardio?? 

I just didn’t know. I would walk into that gym, probably look somewhat like a deer in headlights, mash some things together all while my brain is wondering what the heck I’m doing. There was no real mind-muscle connection, no laid-out plan, no structure, nothing. Turns out, I was wasting a lot of great time for self-improvement. I needed a diet to accompany the gym and I needed a good plan in the gym. 

Trust me when I say the decision to hire a coach was tough. It was money that meant I needed to make some sacrifices. It meant having my husband on board and supportive. It meant that if I didn’t want to waste my money, my commitment had to be 110%. I could list all of the pain points I had, but the collaboration of them all led me to the decision I needed the coach. Once the decision was made the rest was easy and I was ready! Now I have the ability to give back. I can teach YOU! What is your biggest pain point?

This is very much a "it depends" topic.  But generally keep in mind that compound free weight exercises (e.g. barbell squats, barbell deadlifts) work more muscle groups simultaneously.  They also yield a higher calorie burn than using machines too.⠀
⠀
However machines are of course safer, they sometimes can allow individual muscles to be better targeted, and they are good for beginners to learn new movements and exercises before progressing onto free weights.⠀

Let’s chat about goals for a minute. I know a lot of people talk about how you should set goals. And while it’s definitely true, I also know goals can be a struggle.

Why are they such a struggle?

Because we’ve set a lot of goals that were never achieved. We’ve broken a lot of commitments to ourselves. Over and over again. Then we begin to tell ourselves that we can’t achieve goals. That we just aren’t capable. And then comes the downward spiral of self sabotage.

How do we stop this cycle, set goals and actually get results?
>> Set commitments with yourself and keep them. Start small. Just a few small daily habits. Let go of the excuses and commit to making sure these commitments happen.
The more small commitments you can keep to yourself, the more you will succeed with bigger ones.

You’ll begin to feel more confident in yourself, you’ll slowly start to feel capable again and then over time... RESULTS happen.

I loved seeing how everybody else crossed theirs off... the little bit of competition or satisfaction of calling ‘yango’ on a day you were rocking plan ‘c’... Haha so many things to love . ❤️❤️❤️" And unlike most fitness challenges, where you are told EXACTLY what to do each day, this is a choose your own adventure game!

Because... hump day 💁🏼‍♀️ As much as I am SO EXCITED to be getting back on stage in 3 1/2 weeks, I've already started thinking about 'what's next'. For me personally the focus will be on an off season getting strong as fuck. How do you organise your life? -

I naturally operate with a scattergun approach mixed in with intuition, excitement and a sprinkle of fear (haha working on that last one). Organisation doesn’t come naturally to me. I have post-its and lists all over the place. -

Working as a theatre and circus producer for years though I just had to learn to get things together and be organised as fuck. It was my job and I had to be on it and I became really good at it, now I try and apply the same tactics to my life and get shit sorted - it helps so much. When there is more order to my life I feel more relaxed. I sleep better at night and have more clarity.

Small one at bottom is my daily dream diary that lives next to my bed 🧚

Blue floral is my work and class notes books📒

Pink is my personal ramblings journal ✨

Purple with white flowres is my client’s notes and planning 🤸

Black with Van Gough Stuck on is my bullet journal life planner 📑 
It felt excessive when I put them all together ( I actually have more haha) but they work and it helps me.

We are so thrilled with this success story from Dee, who’s completed our Lift Lean 21 Day Online program 💪🏼 “Firstly... I bloody love this program! I’m not so great on the food, however I have completely cut out white carbs, and majority of dairy and sugar. I have been drinking green tea instead of coffee (had a couple of coffees... but not the 4 or so a day I was having!) and cut out alcohol completely for first week and a half (then have had weekend treat! 😂) and living mostly off Spicy butternut squash soup and chicken and veg or salad!! I need time to experiment with more food! I also need to up my water intake.

However the exercise I LOVE! I have followed these religiously, and there isn’t much that gets me out of bed at 6.30 in the morning 😂😂 they easily slot into my day, are straight forward and uncomplicated but I can really feel them working! I even have muscles in my arms now!!!! A number have people have commented that I have lost weight so it def shows. I was hovering between 10.4 & 10.6 and am now 9.13 and have lost around 1.5 inches off my waist! 
I need to sort abs out now!! I will def be continuing!! (And have been telling all my clients!!) Thank u for devising a training program which is easy to follow and gives rewards... even as quick as this!!”

Wie so oft kann man das nicht pauschalisieren, denn es gibt etliche Faktoren, welche die Trainingsdauer beeinflussen!

Trainingsstatus: Wie lange trainierst du schon? Zugegeben, die Zeit, seit der jemand Krafttraining betreibt sagt nicht unbedingt etwas über seinen Trainingsstatus aus, dennoch gilt:
Ein Anfänger muss weniger Zeit aufbringen als ein fortgeschrittener. Dies liegt an folgenden Gründen:
- Volumen: Ein Anfänger benötigt viel weniger Sätze pro Muskelgruppe um diese zum Wachsen zu bringen als ein fortgeschrittener. Weniger Volumen = kürzeres Training!
- Pausenzeiten: Die Gewichte, die ein Anfänger bewegt sind im Vergleich zu einem Fortgeschrittenen deutlich geringer. Somit widerfährt sein System eine viel geringere Gesamtbelastung. Es ist ein mega Unterschied, ob du als Anfänger mit 70% deines 1RM Squats (100kg) 10 Reps machst, oder als Fortgeschrittener mit 70% deines 1RM Squats (200kg) 10 Reps machst. Beide Male handelt es sich um 70%. Der Fortgeschrittene wird aber um sich zwischen den Sätzen zu erholen deutlich mehr Pausenzeit benötigen!

Trainingsfrequenz: Wenn du statt 6 Mal nur 3 Mal die Woche ins Gym gehst, und das selbe Volumen abarbeiten möchtest, dann wird die einzelne Einheit logischerweise länger dauern müssen.
Zeitfenster: Wie integriert sich dein Training optimal in deinen Alltag? Wenn du jemand bist, der immer in der Mittagspause trainieren geht oder sonst jemand bist der einen straffen Zeitplan hat und immer nur 1h Zeit fürs Training aufbringen kann, dann muss das Training dementsprechend an diese Umstände angepasst sein!

Mit alle dem oben genannten Punkten kann ein Training von z.B. 45min bis hin zu 3h dauern.

Trainingsfrequenz: Wenn du statt 6 Mal nur 3 Mal die Woche ins Gym gehst, und das selbe Volumen abarbeiten möchtest, dann wird die einzelne Einheit logischerweise länger dauern müssen.
Zeitfenster: Wie integriert sich dein Training optimal in deinen Alltag? Wenn du jemand bist, der immer in der Mittagspause trainieren geht oder sonst jemand bist der einen straffen Zeitplan hat und immer nur 1h Zeit fürs Training aufbringen kann, dann muss das Training dementsprechend an diese Umstände angepasst sein!
