At least once a month we hold a local Cube of Truth in North Hollywood outside the metro station. Usually small and intimate, but never short of special moments.
Last night as we were wrapping up, a gentleman who I spoke to about a month ago came up to us and with some sweet sarcasm (but true!) said, “Because of this lady right here, I no longer eat eggs, milk, chicken ... “ (he stopped consuming animal products 🌱) This man was Hispanic and probably in his early 70s. I bring up his age and “ethnicity” because usually age and culture are used as reasons as why someone can’t/won’t change. He is living proof. Any who, it was moving so I had to asked him for a hug 💚 Hope we keep running into him!
Five of us did outreach last night, we had 17 meaningful conversations with people who wanted to look into veganism because of the injustice to animals, our own health and Earth. Those 17 people will share this awareness with others, and so on ... beautiful seeds being planted and change happening. I’m just happy I’m able to share something that I know will bring light to someone’s life, how it has to mine.
Speaking honestly, listening honestly could change the world
After all, we are one big #collectiveconsciousness
