The quieter you become, the more you hear...
How many of us take time out to sit and reflect or to just be in our own presence?
How many of us have a place, or a special spot to do just that?
Here in this Peakhurst back yard we are well on the way to creating such a spot. A spot where my client can sit and reflect, read a book or catch up on the local gossip with her mothers group friends while their kids run amuck in the yard?
When I first visited this spot, the pavers were covered in old fence pailings and building rubble. Half the earth was missing from the garden beds due to excavation prior to the installation of a new fence, and what was left was a mix of weeds and a matrix of malnourished Agapanthus.
The brief; to tidy up the spot and breathe a bit of life into the garden beds.
No small task. I began by clearing the area completely of unwanted waste. Both weeds and Agapanthus were pulled from the beds. The fence line was then filled with existing soil and the beds then topped up with a premium soil mix.
The healthier Agapanthus were then replanted symmetrically on either side of the space. Next my client will add a chair or two and perhaps a small table to rest a book or a cup of tea.
Hopefully come next summer, the Agapanthus will be back in good health and full bloom, and my client will have her own secret garden, her own quiet place 🌱🌻. #thesecretgardenergardeningsolutions #the_secretgardener #placeofsolitude #quietspace #secretgarden #gardenoverhaul #gardenmakeover #femalegardener
